While I normally hate to ask for help, especially financially, I've been nominated with a foreign exchange program to be sent to Japan for 2 weeks. Only problem is, it will cost me somewhere around $7,000.00, which obviously is alot of money period, but my family itself is extremely poor. I'm trying everything I can with fundraising, jobs, etc., but so far to no avail. If you are willing and able to donate some money for me to have this amazing opportunity, please send me a note. I've been dreaming of going to Japan for years, and now I may have the chance to do all the things I wanted to and more. Learn calligraphy, learn traditions of the geishas and samurais, visit hiroshima, visit Tokyo, meet with buddhist and shinto priests and monks, live with a Japanese family, and go to school there too!
